It was an impressive weekend with many “cake” artists for Cake Fest in Lafayette, Louisiana. With every event there seems to be one reason people feel the need to go. One word, Passion. I have been lucky enough to experience many events in Louisiana, and no matter the driving force for the masses of people; Passion seems to really be the element that makes people have the want to be there. I asked may questions this weeekend, and learned why so many of the cakes displayed achieved higher marks of their score cards than others. It was a pleasure meeting so many from as far as Japan, New York, British Columbia, Malaysia, & locals from various cities including Kaplan and Lafayette, LA.
I saw many cake artists affiliated with Food Network and many who enjoy teaching their crafts to so many. I even had the pleasure of actually judging a taste category with a few other locals!
