It’s October in Acadiana.

October is always an amazing time for the Acadiana area. It could possibly be one of my favorite. The skies in Acadiana change just as fast as some of the leaves in Girard Park. Various colors and various reasons to get outside with a camera. Some of my most favorite photos have come from the October and November months in Acadiana. Here is one above created this morning for Lafayette Town Planner’s facebook page. (Click here to see on the page) You can also find a great deal of Kaptography work on the actual calendars monthly. We will be sure to start including more city -wide photography used in the calendar on the website and also the facebook page. And if you bought a new camera this year, now is the time to start planning to find a great spot in the park for shooting some great colors. Try near the bridge in Girard Park, since the new deck was built it should make for a great background. Try anywhere the entire region is beautiful.

Festivals Acadiens et Creoles will also be coming up this month from Oct 10-12. This festival is one of the most rewarding festivals to take a photo personally in the Acadiana area. So many greatImage7s possibilities. Can’t wait for this year! View one of our photos also in the new “Visions of Tradition” book for this years Festivals Acadiens et Creoles book showing and celebrating 49 years of Festival. There are many great pieces and memories by various local artists and photographers. Kaptography is very honored to have had a photo present in this amazing piece of local culture. Once again a special thanks to Pat Mould, Barry Ancelet, & Phillip Gould forcreating an awesome cultural experience for the people of Acadiana. The “Visions of Tradition”book along with Festival Acadiens pins and merchandise can be purchased online by clicking here.

We are looking forward to the amazing challenge again this year of photographing this amazing festival at Girard Park. View photos by Kaptography on the Festivals Acadiens et Creoles facebook page by clciking here.  You will also see some photography on Live And Local by clicking here.
